Join us for a living, breathing slice of Cretan village life: a warm, noisy, joyful Cretan Night in Mochos - every Wednesday in the summer months the stone platía (village square) fills with life music, song, dancing and family-style food. You’ll arrive in an ancient, olive-scented village perched on a peaceful plateau - a place of traditions, musicians and local storytellers - then become the honoured guest at a true island festa.
We pick you up in a luxury Mercedes-Vito and deliver you comfortably to Mochos, where the Cultural Association “Proodos” and local musicians (lyra, bouzouki, mandolin and lute players) bring authentic Cretan melodies to life while dancers in traditional costume perform and invite everyone to join. The evening blends live performance and participation: learn a few steps, clap in time, sing along and taste the flavours that make Cretan feasts famous - grilled and oven-baked mezes, local salads, village pies, homemade preserves, abundant local wine and, of course, tsikoudia (raki). Reserve a table in a recommended taverna on the square and enjoy a generous family-style meal while watching the show.
This is not a staged “tourist show” but a community celebration - a chance to sit among locals, taste genuine recipes, and feel the island’s pulse as the night stretches on. Mochos’ cultural nights run regularly through the summer and are an unmissable way to experience authentic Cretan hospitality and music.

Tour Timeline

- 19:30 – 20:00: Scenic drive to Mochos village with a short introduction to village history & local highlights
- 20:00 – 23:00: Cretan Night in the Platía - live music, folk dances by the Proodos group, participation & dancing. Option to reserve table at a taverna for a family-style dinner. Expect lyra, bouzouki and lute, plenty of singing, and a communal, celebratory atmosphere
- 23:00 – 23:45: Private return transfer to your accommodation (Heraklion area). Timing flexible - can extend if the village festa goes on
